Goals and advantages

· Successful mediation saves you costs and resources, leading to rapid, enduring accord. There are no losers. There are no court proceedings.

· Mediation arises from the voluntary goodwill of conflicting parties and their common interest in creating accord.

· Via individual responsibility and accountability, mediation guides conflicting parties to discovering their own solution.

· A mediator negotiates understanding, guiding the mediation process as a nonpartial observer.

· Mediation is absolutely confidential

How mediation proceeds

  1. Defining the mandate
Outlining goals and the general set-up.

  2. Collecting issues
Identifying and extracting all important aspects.

  3. Clarifying interests
Shedding light on the varying positions and their underlying needs and motivations.

  4. Finding solutions
Developing ideas to bring about consensus.

  5. Final reconciliation
Establishing a binding agreement with a concrete course of action.
